Olde is new: Olde Mill in Orland Park features executive homes.

With residential land in short supply in Orland Park, few opportunities exist in the Southland village for homebuyers seeking a new home in the much sought-after town recognized by Money magazine as one America's top communities to live.

As the community developer, Celtic Development insists on features that guarantee Olde Mill's distinguished integrity and executive feel. All Olde Mill homes must have brick and stone exteriors; side-loaded garages; driveways with brick pavers or colored architectural stamped concrete; and a minimum floor plan size of 3,600 square feet.

"Features like these help ensure the caliber of the community's homes and appeal to concerned buyers. All 64 homes will be different and that lends a unique quality to the community," said Forkan, adding that Olde Mill's southern edge borders village-owned open space providing acres of unobstructed backyard views.

Olde Mill residents enjoy the best of Orland Park's amenities. Recreation opportunities abound in Orland Park with Olde Mill residents gaining quick access to the multi-faceted, 90,000-square-foot Sportsplex, the village's award-winning park district offerings, dozens of golf courses, and numerous hiking and biking trails. Orland Park's educational successes underscore Olde Mill's desirability and family friendly feel. Teen residents in Olde Mill attend Carl Sandburg High School. Orland School District 135, meanwhile, educates the area's elementary school students.

In the last nine months, Celtic Development has witnessed lot and home sales increase dramatically, numbers that buck the day's negative real estate trends and showcase the demand for an Olde Mill address.

"In today's market, those sales numbers highlight the desirability of the Olde Mill community and show just how attractive the community is to buyers," said Molloy, an Olde Mill resident himself.

As an added incentive for new buyers, Marquette Bank is providing qualified buyers a construction loan of 1.9 percent, which also covers the first two years of the home's mortgage.
